T
he 38th Annual National Premium Tax Conference will be held November 2-4, 2010, in Reno, Nevada at the Eldorado Hotel Casino. The Conference is a forum for premium tax practitioners to meet, learn about and discuss statutory changes and trends impacting state premium, income, sales/use, and other state fees and assessments that affect the insurance industry. In response to your evaluation comments, we have made significant changes to the 2010 agenda (subject to change). A draft of the 2010 agenda can be found here. To better accommodate the flight schedules, we have reformatted the Conference to allow Friday as a travel day so that you will not miss any of the valued sessions. We strongly recommend that you arrive in Reno on Monday evening and depart on Friday morning. Please review the attached agenda prior to making your travel arrangements to ensure that you get the most from the Conference.
The Conference size is limited to the FIRST 200 insurance company persons to register and remit payment. If you would like to reserve a place, please complete the attached Registration Form and mail it, along with your check for $375, by September 1, 2010. You must also email the registration form to nptcreno@charter.net. Checks should be made payable to the “National Premium Tax Conference” and mailed to the following address:

The first 100 attendees who remit payment by July 30, 2010 will be entered into a raffle for some great prizes to be awarded at the opening reception.
The registration fee covers the opening reception, breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday and lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as well as, conference facility costs. A block of rooms is being held at the Eldorado Hotel Casino for the Conference attendees and we are pleased to announce that we have further negotiated a lower room rate for Sunday – Thursday of this year’s event. The rates range from $56.00 per room, per night (Deluxe Accommodations) to $110.00 per room, per night (Player Spa Jacuzzi Suites), plus Washoe County room tax and an energy surcharge. A $10 charge will apply if there are more than two people in the same room. We have also negotiated room rates for those arriving prior to Sunday and those staying Friday and Saturday after the Conference. With your receipt you will receive additional information on how to make your hotel reservation, along with the rate information for those arriving early and staying longer.
Please DO NOT make hotel reservations before receiving a confirmation. It is very important that the special conference code be used when booking your room. This enables us to keep the conference fee at a minimum. You will receive the code with your confirmation. If you fail to use the code, your conference fee will be increased to $750. Please note that online travel booking sites will not honor the special conference code.
We always have a need for volunteer speakers. As you give consideration to volunteering to share your tax knowledge with your colleagues, please keep in mind that volunteerism is the heart and soul of the National Premium Tax Conference.
